LISTEN: Mountain Man releases cover of Fiona Apple's 'Hot Knife'
They cover the song frequently at live shows, but this is the first time they've released a studio version of the cover.
As part of their ongoing covers series, American folk trio Mountain Man have covered Fiona Apple's 'Hot Knife'.
The song is originally from Apple's 2012 record The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do. When the trio were able to tour, they covered the song frequently live.
“If we followed Questlove’s advice and made gratitude lists before we went to bed every night, Fiona Apple would be at the top every time,” the band wrote in a statement. “She tells the truth like no one else does. Thank you, Fiona Apple. We love you.”
In 2020, Mountain Man also released covers of Kacey Musgraves' 'Slow Burn', along with covers of John Denver and Wilco songs.
