Late Late postpones St Patrick's show live from Limerick

The show, a collaboration with Fáilte Ireland, was set to be broadcast from University Concert Hall on Friday, March 13, just a few days before St Patrick's Day.

Ryan Tubridy announced the news on his radio show.

We are really sorry to say we cannot bring you the #LateLate show we planned for Limerick this Friday due to the national Covid 19 situation. 😞😞

It would have been the third time The Late Late Show wasn’t recorded in Dublin and travelled to another destination. In 2008, the show was broadcast from The Wexford Opera Festival and in 2018 the show came live from London.

Last month when it was announced that the show would be going "on the road," Tubridy said: "The point of our upcoming trip to Limerick is that we are celebrating the best of Irish.”
He continued: "In a world that tends to focus on the negative too much, we like to strive to buck that trend. Irish people love this island, The Late Late Show loves Ireland and we cannot wait to get this show on the road and head West."
