Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani to star in 'The Lovebirds'
Lead roles revealed for Paramount's upcoming romantic comedy.
Issa Rae (Insecure) and Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick) will take leading roles in Paramount’s upcoming romantic-comedy The Lovebirds. The two stars will also serve as executive producers for the film.
The story centres on a couple thrown into the midst of a murder mystery whilst on the verge of splitting up. Michael Showalter is to direct the film, in his second project with Nanjiani since helming The Big Sick in 2017.
One of the film’s writers, Aaron Abrams, took to twitter to share the news. “I wrote a thing with my friend @GallBrendan and am now producing it with my friend @martingero and it stars THE TWO MOST CHARMINGEST PEOPLE EVER life is a nice time,” he said.
