Gerry Cinnamon discusses his remarkable journey in his first major Irish interview in the new Hot Press

Fresh from the release of his acclaimed new album, The Bonny, Gerry Cinnamon continues his path to megastardom as the cover star of the new issue of Hot Press – hitting shelves this Thursday, and available to order online now.

The globe-conquering Glaswegian, like his hero Bob Dylan before him, is taking over the world with his acoustic guitar. In his first major Irish interview, Gerry tells Stuart Clark about his tough Glasgow upbringing; the music that's inspired him; life during lockdown; the new song he can't wait for you all to hear; and his incendiary No.1 album, The Bonny.

Discussing how he's been spending his time in lockdown in Glasgow, Gerry also revealed his new appreciation for Christy Dignam.

"I've been obsessively watching everything with Christy Dignam in it on YouTube," he told us. "I only found out about him and Aslan the last couple of weeks. I never knew the guy existed. Oh my God man, I can't get enough of him."

His Hot Press interview arrives shortly after the release of his lauded new album, The Bonny.

"Crammed with cautionary tales of hope, horror and small-town heroes with big hearts, the Scot’s musical stew will be lapped up by lovers of the likes of the Gallagher brothers, Bob Dylan, Irvine Welsh and Limmy," Hot Press's Edwin McFee wrote in his review of the album.

Gerry also recently announced rescheduled dates for his highly anticipated Irish outdoors shows. After being forced to postpone the original shows due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Scottish star is now set to play Irish Independent Park, Cork on June 18th 2021; Belsonic, Belfast on June 19th 2021; and Malahide Castle, Dublin on June 20th, 2021.
