Dior fashion show to be held at Trinity College

Derry-born Creative Director of Dior Jonathan Anderson announced that the Dior Fall/Winter 2027 runway show will take place at Trinity College Dublin on December 4.

It will be the first-ever Dior fashion show to take place in Ireland and will be held in Trinity College's historic Old Library, the same building where the 9th century Book of Kells is kept.

He made the announcement in an Instagram post. It features an image of a four-leaf clover with a quote from Carmel Snow (born Carmel White), reading "It's quite a revolution, dear Christian. Your dresses have such a new look."

The Dalkey-born influential fashion journalist, known for her quote "elegance is good taste, plus a dash of daring," was editor-in-chief of the American edition of Harper's Baazar and former fashion editor of American Vogue.

Snow famously coined the term "New Look" in the fashion industry, which she said in response to Christian Dior's debut 1947 collection.

Anderson, who recently designed Taylor Swift's wedding dress, is the first designer since Christian Dior to lead both men's and women's lines at the French fashion house.

"Showing at Trinity College Dublin is a dream come true. I began my career in fashion in Dublin, so returning here feels deeply personal," he told the BBC.

"To present this collection in such an extraordinary setting – at an institution with such an important cultural history – is a real honour."

Anderson's first job was on the shop floor at Brown Thomas on Grafton Street. He entered the fashion industry with his brand J.W. Anderson and collaborated with Guinness for a collection of t-shirts and knitted jumpers. He has since built a career in fashion design and became Creative Director of Dior in June 2025.
