Captain Marvel Trailer released
The trailer for Marvel's first female led superhero movie looks out of this world.
The film stars Brie Larson in the title role which will launch superhero Carol Danvers into the Marvel universe. The film focuses on the former fighter pilot's efforts to stop an intergalactic war between two enemy races who make earth their battleground after she finds herself imbued with superhuman powers.
Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel will be twenty first film of the Marvel universe. In addition to introducing Danvers, the trailer sees old favorites Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg). The film will also feature Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Danver's intergalactic mentor.
As the first female led title in the Marvel chain, Captain Marvel heralds the beginning of an exciting phase within the franchise. The titular character is also set to feature strongly in the upcoming installment of the Avengers movies.
Captain Marvel is due to be released on March 8, 2019.
