The Boys from County Hell to debut at Tribeca Film Festival
In 2018, the filmmakers signed a deal with film production company Legendary.
Irish filmmakers Chris Baugh and Brendan Mullin will premiere their new feature The Boys from County Hell at New York's prestigious Tribeca Film Festival. The pair are best known for their debut feature A Bad Day for the Cut, which debuted at Sundance.
The film, which stars Jack Rowan and Derry Girls' Louisa Harland, will be shown as part of the film fest's 'Midnight' section, which showcases the best new films in the horror, sci-fi and psychological thriller genres. The festival line up, released today, also boasts the world premiere of Judd Apatow's latest film The King of Staten Island.
The Boys from County Hell follows a father-and-son team of pipeline workers who have accidentally awoken a fabled bloodthirsty ghoul who sleeps beneath Six Mile Hill in Ireland. It is based on the producer's 2012 short of the same name, which picked up best Irish Short at the Kerry International Film Festival in 2012.
