WIN: Original 'Achtung Baby' Fly Sunglasses!!

In 1991, U2 released their seventh studio album Achtung Baby, which became one of the band’s most successful records. Staged in support of their new sound, the ZOO TV tour visited arenas and stadiums around the world during 1992 and 1993.

For this tour Bono wore a specific type of sunglasses on stage (actually two different models, but imperceptible at a distance). Draped in his new alter-ego “The Fly”, Bono captured the public’s attention with his amazing, one-of-a-kind fly shades.

Since that time, many sunglass manufacturers have reintroduced larger fly sunglass models, but none have ever matched the mystique of the Viking 1973 style. Bono made these sunglasses the most iconic fashion item in U2’s career. They are a must for any U2 fan!

Known as the original ACHTUNG BABY FLY SUNGLASSES, the VIKING 1973 model in black was included in U2’s 2011 Achtung Baby Über deluxe box
set, but in limited quantities. They have recently been updated in optical high-quality polycarbonate with folding arms, very resistant and with improved strength, now with 100% UV protection. Every effort was made to preserve their beautiful and unique design. We truly worked hard to keep them alive for more than 40 years!

Almost 30 years have passed since the ZOO TV tour. Wouldn’t it be amazing to see Bono on stage, wearing our fly shades once more as THE FLY? We don’t know if the band is going to tour ACHTUNG BABY like they did with the Joshua tree, for its 30th anniversary. In case they will, we would love to be involved as part of their merchandising.
