Raveloid Irish Language Music Festival Postponed
What was once planned as being the first music festival to take place exclusively as Gaeilge has been postponed.
The Irish language music festival Ravelóid has been postponed. In a statement released on the site's Facebook page they cite that the decision was taken in light of a "number of production factors". The event will not be taking place in 2016. Full refunds will be issued to anyone who has already purchased a ticket. Read the full statement below.
The festival been scheduled to take place over the weekend of June 10 to 12 but the organisers are now working on seeking an alternative date. Originally it had been hoped up to 4,500 people would attend. The line up consisted of some of the top up and coming Irish acts including HamsandwicH, Delorentos, The Riptide Movement and Mundy.
Last week the organisers, Tomaí Ó Conghaile and Aodhán Ó Deá posted a video online asking people to purchase 1000 tickets before the beginning of this week. Ravelóid was designed to highlight various aspects of the Irish language through music, drama, comedy, poetry and dance across five stages.
