Nile Rodgers hospitalised in Toronto
The Chic singer was scheduled to play at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on Sunday night.
Nile Rodgers has been hopsitalised in Canada.
The musician is currently touring with Chic and fellow disco innovators Earth, Wind & Fire on their 2054 tour. But Billboard reports that when the groundbreaking musician rolled into Toronto on Sunday, Rodgers was grounded with illness and taken to hospital where, he says, doctors “are taking great care” of him.
Rogers was diagnosed with prostate cancer six years ago. He has spoken openly about his struggle with his illness, both in concerts, in interviews, and in his own personal blog.. In 2014, he was given the all-clear on cancer.
Rodgers admitted in a tweet that he's never missed a gig until now. He also tweeted late on Sunday to thank his supporters and doctors.
We're wishing you all the best Nile!
Thank you all so much. I love @EarthWindFire @CHICorg all the #fans and my doctors who are taking great care of me. See you all very soon https://t.co/6dl5EFXbza
