RTE plan new panel show for Brendan O'Connor
Production companies are invited to submit proposals for summer series
RTE are planning a panel show chaired by Brendan O'Connor to run throughout the summer.
The national broadcaster has invited production companies with experience of studio programming to submit their proposals for the show, which would see the writer and broadcaster fronting a wry look at the week's events.
16 episodes are planned to run from May, amid widespread complaints about the quantity of repeat programming broadcast during the summer months.
The brief suggests the 'presenter behind a desk' look will be eschewed in favour of a more casual approach, with a rotating roster of contributors and a weekly special guest featuring.
The Corkman was last on our screens heading up the Saturday Night Show - the slot was assumed by Ray D'Arcy on his return to RTE.
