Rising Down
Hook-laden agitprop combines with slinky beats on outing number ten from The Roots
Ten albums in and The Roots show no sign of mellowing out. At this stage of the game you know what you’re getting with the rap collective, so we’ll cut to the chase. Hook-laden beats and (slightly) highbrow rhymes are the order of the day and if you’re a Roots fanatic you’ll love it. However, if you’ve a passing interest, Rising Down won’t be the record to convert you, as they’ve still to come up with another song to match the crossover appeal of their smash hit single ‘The Seed.’
