Replica Sun Machine
Electronica and alt.pop come together as Seattle darlings The Shortwave set return with the follow-up to 2005's The Debt Collection.
Normally when hotly-tipped electro-fusion bands make a second record, they fuck it up. Quietly bucking the trend are The Shortwave Set, whose follow-up to 2005’s The Debt Collection confounds convention by actually being pretty good. Produced by the resident tart of the knob-twiddling world Danger Mouse, The Shortwave Set’s music is heavily steeped in '60s psychedelia and should see them become darlings of the festival circuit this summer.
Key Track: ‘Replica’
