Stayfresh
The breaks on ‘Stayfresh’ are infectious and flirt with dub, electro, techno and tribal house.
One of the most common criticisms levelled at nu skool breaks is that it’s too serious. Blighted by rigid rhythms and dark basslines, it often comes across as the ultimate moody boy soundtrack. Happily, ‘Stayfresh’ is a different proposition. Aquasky come from a rave background and this means they have a wider perspective than other producers. As such the breaks on ‘Stayfresh’ are infectious and flirt with dub, electro, techno and tribal house and even resurrects The Ragga Twins for inspired vocals on ‘Coffee’ and ‘Dem No No We’.
