RTÉ Radio 1 Announces New Series of Second Captains

RTÉ are delighted to announce that the multi-award winning Second Captains will return to RTÉ Radio 1 from July 10 with a new series called Second Captains Sunday. This new Sunday morning show will feature high-profile comedians, actors and journalists from outside the world of sport.

Combining music, chat and revealing profile interviews, Second Captains Sunday will bring a lively, light-hearted and humorous tone synonymous with Second Captains to a weekend audience far beyond traditional sports fans.

Presented by Eoin McDevitt, Ciaran Murphy and Ken Early, the show will pick apart the week’s main events from popular culture, current affairs and topical stories with the help of a guest from the world of comedy, acting, journalism, music or politics.

Second Captains Sunday’s will also feature This Sporting Life, where the special guest explains how sport has impacted on them – for good and bad. They'll discuss playing and watching sport and their passion or otherwise for sport in their current lives.
