Little Dragon
Little Dragon are a Swedish soul group, who like to lace their stylish R&B with plenty of cold, burbling electronics.
Little Dragon are a Swedish soul group, who like to lace their stylish R&B with plenty of cold, burbling electronics. A winning formula in theory, but here the digital frosting is too-often a means of atoning for the absence of anything substantial underneath. Opener ‘Twice’ is a heart-rendingly pretty piano ballad, while ‘Place To Belong’ has a delicious undercurrent of longing and sadness. Elsewhere, however, there is a severe shortage of memorable hooks and melodies on this debut album.
