Cry Monster Cry return with new single 'Things We Can't Take Back'

Following the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, Rhythm of Dawn in 2015, brothers Richie & Jamie Martin are back with their new single 'Things We Can't Take Back', which will go on general release March 17.

The music still contains the tight fraternal harmonies, evocative lyrics and dynamic instrumentation that Cry Monster Cry have become notable for, but their direct, measured approach to song writing, as well as their use of a sparse, striking piano riff, gives this new single a touch of originality when compared with their earlier songs.

The song creates a series of spaces to tell the story, with an intimate vocal and honest lyrics over a beat and character that sits somewhere between R&B and folk. The chorus sees the brothers’ distinctive harmonies joining, along with a swirling synthesizer that creates a simple and effective impression. The material is raw, honest, and their most personal to date.

Upcoming shows from Cry Monster Cry:

· Two Sold Out headline shows in Whelan’s, Dublin with a third added due to demand on March 24th, 25th and 26th.

· Jameson Bow Street, Dublin on St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th.

· Special guest slot with The Riptide Movement in The Olympia Theatre, Dublin on March 17th.

· Special guests to Bear’s Den in The Academy, Dublin on March 19th.

· Special guests for two shows with Mick Flannery in The Riverbank Theatre, Kildare on March 29th and Theatre Royal, Waterford on March 30th.
