Ah, we'd forgotten the intensely brilliant arguments music lists can provoke! When our 2017 Fifteen Irish Bands That Should Have Been Massive round up of nearly but not quites started trending again over Easter on hotpress.com, we decided that we'd re-post all of the originals and do a Volume 4 for the craic. This was the cue for us being told that it was a great idea, a stupid idea and all points inbetween. Forty years after the fact, we were rowing afresh over Cactus World News, The Atrix, The Word and The Virgin Prunes who are one of the ultimate Irish vote-splitters.
