Wyvern Lingo perform for 'Now We're Talking' Mental Health Campaign

In a special video series, artists and bands have joined the 'Now We're Talking' campaign, recording songs related to the issue of mental health.

In our first video, filmed at The Outhouse Dublin, Bray trio Wyvern Lingo perform 'Dark Cloud' from their self-titled debut album. Wyvern Lingo are one of Ireland's hottest emerging acts, touring the UK and further afield as well as playing increasingly successful and larger venues in Ireland. They recently played the Electric Picnic festival, where their set went down a storm.

In the video, Wyvern Lingo also talk revealingly about their approach to mental well-being and to the issues affecting people – and young people especially – in Ireland today.

Speaking about the track itself, Caoimhe Barry says: "[Dark Cloud] is about trying to be there for someone who's in a really bad place, but trying to keep yourself mentally OK, mentally stable. I think that, often when someone is in a bad place, there's like a dark cloud looming, waiting to burst at any moment. So it's trying to there for them, but also keeping yourself healthy."

The video series was filmed as part of the 'Now We're Talking' mental health campaign, being run in partnership by Hot Press, Lyons Tea and Pieta House – the suicide and self-harm crisis charity – which aims to take the conversation around mental health in Ireland on to the next level. The video is directed by Hot Press' Rowan Stokes.

As part of our campaign, will be hosting a Town Hall Gathering on October 10, World Mental Health Day, at Smock Alley Theatre.

RTE 2FM's Eoghan McDermott, Dr. Ciara Kelly, Dr. Niall Crumlish, and CEO of Pieta House Brian Higgins will take part in an in-depth panel discussion on this issue.
