Watch: Olivia Colman Accepts Award For Best Actress

Olivia Colman defied expectations and took home the Best Actress Academy Award for her work in The Favourite.

For much of the awards season, Glenn Close seemed poised to win the award for an aching performance in The Wife, and Colman seemed genuinely surprised when her name was announced instead. The Irish-produced The Favourite was nominated in several categories, including Best Picture, but Colman secured the film's only win of the night.

"It's genuinely quite stressful. This is hilarious. I got an Oscar," said Colman during a funny and heartfelt speech.
