WATCH: Artemis Fowl film to stream exclusively from June 12 on Disney+
In a sign of the Covid-19 times, Kenneth Branagh's Eoin Colfer adaptation is going straight to SVOD
With cinemas highly unlikely to be open again before its original May 29 release date, Disney has announced that their new live action fantasy epic, Artemis Fowl, will stream exclusively from Friday June 12 on their new SVOD platform Disney+.
Kenneth Branagh's film version of the 2001 Eoin Colfer young adult novel has a generous $125 million budget and stars Irish newcomer Ferdia Shaw as Artemis Fowl II, a 12-year-old criminal genius.
Colin Farrell plays his absent father while Judi Dench will likely as not do what she always does and steal the show as Commander Julius Root, a high-up in the Lower Elements Police, AKA LEPrecon.
The trailer suggests we're in for a visual tour de force that kids of all ages will adore.
