PREMIERE: Robert John Ardiff offers up some superior murder balladry
You might want to steer clear of canals for a while...
We're loving the video - well, it's more of a short film - that accompanies 'The 13th Lock', one of the tracks from Robert John Ardiff's excellent A Whistle in The Dark EP, which came out last week.
"It's an old song by Frank Harte, which I learned from an RTÉ radio programme about the Grand Canal," says Robert who wrings every ounce of drama out of the murder ballad. The video was directed by Eoin Heaney between The Camac and Dolphin's Barn Bridge on a stormy night at the end of May.
