Moncrieff at The Haven Hotel (Photos)
Mesmerizing Moncrieff Homecoming at The Haven! The Haven Hotel, Dunmore East, Co.Waterford, was transformed into a deeply personal and electric venue for Moncrieff's sold-out special five "Maybe It's Home" shows, marking a truly unique and emotional homecoming for the Tramore-born star. After a phenomenal 2025, including a number-one debut album and touring across the globe, these five special concerts were a true immersive celebration of his Waterford roots, allowing his family, friends, and home fans not only to get up close and personal but be an integral part of each show.
The Haven Hotel, a charming and historic location set in the picturesque seaside town of Dunmore East, was meticulously styled to reflect Moncrieff's journey. Attendees were greeted with an atmosphere steeped in local pride. The space was adorned with relics of Moncrieff's early Waterford life, from photos of his first-ever gig at Sal's on Waterford's Quay to snapshots from his days playing hurling with Butlerstown and De La Salle. A special wall allowed fans to contribute to the story, pinning their own Polaroid photos and personal messages, creating a tangible connection between the artist and his audience. The setting, particularly the newly opened Kelly's Room, provided an intimate backdrop that perfectly suited the stripped-back nature of these special shows.
Distinct from his usual high-energy performances, Moncrieff presented a heartfelt, intimate experience, allowing his family, friends, and home fans a real sense of being part of these special shows. The setlist focused on simple yet striking performances, giving new depth to hits like "Warm," "Love Somebody," and tracks from his acclaimed album. The addition of a live string quartet elevated the emotional intensity of the songs, adding a beautiful, cinematic layer to each evening. In a true nod to his roots, Moncrieff welcomed guest appearances from local Waterford musicians each night, including Alex Gough, Codyy, Patrick Dowling, Sino, and George Lyons, honouring the community that shaped him. Knowing the audio was being professionally recorded for a forthcoming live release of 'Maybe It's Fine' added a sense of historical significance, making every note feel memorable.
These home-based shows were a blend of growing success and local pride. Moncrieff's raw honesty and boundless energy resonated deeply in the up-close-and-personal setting. All five shows were emotionally charged experiences for both the singer and each member of the audience.
