KNEECAP at Live at the Marquee (Photos)
Brúchóireacht i bPuball de Phunc-Rap Ard-Ochtáin an Éirí Amach Éireannaigh, Kneecap BEO ag an Marquee!
Agus seachtain dheireanach LIVE at the Marquee 2026 sroichte, caitheadh an FUINNIMH amach as an stratasféar aréir nuair a thug an triúr hip-hop as Béal Feirste, Kneecap, a bPunc-Rap Ard-Ochtáin uathúil den Éirí Amach Éireannach go dugthailte Chorcaí. Agus iad ar thuras timpeall i ndiaidh dóibh an t-albam FENIAN a chur ag barr na gcairteacha, thug Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, agus DJ Próvaí dúshlán punc-rap nua-aimseartha i bhfoirm brúchóireachta laistigh den phuball chuig slua mór lán go doras ar bhruach na Laoi.
I bhfad sular tháinig an triúr i láthair fiú, bhí an t-aer laistigh den Marquee leictreach. Bhí an slua ina fharraige de bhalaclavaí glasa, bána agus óra, de thritheathaigh, agus de ghlan-núis. Bhí an banna go hiomlán dhochoiscthe lena gcomhshuíomh idir phearsa fhiáin fhrithbhunaíochta agus thar a bheith teann ina bhfeidhmíocht. Nuair a phléasc dord sintéiseach tosaigh "Éire go Deo" tríd an gcóras fuaime, d'athraigh an puball ina mhosh-pit ollmhór, bíogach. Tháinig DJ Próvaí amach ina bhalaclava clúiteach ag gríosú an tslua chun bais. Ansin tháinig Mo Chara agus Móglaí Bap ag preabadaigh ar an stáitse le fuinneamh pléascach nach raibh aon mhaolú air don chéad nócha nóiméad eile.
Bhí Mo Chara agus Móglaí Bap ag malartú rann gan locht, ag meascadh na Gaeilge agus an Bhéarla gan uaim. Fiú amháin dóibh siúd sa slua nach raibh mórán Gaeilge acu thar “An bhfuil cead agam dul go dtí an leithreas,” béicheadh curfá na luath-amhrán rathúil cosúil le "C.E.A.R.T.A." agus "H.O.O.D." ar ais chucu le diongbháilteacht iomlán.
Thug amhráin ón albam nua FENIAN meáchan leictreonach níos troime agus níos tiománaí don seó. Chuir leagan beo "Rhino Ket" agus teicneo-phunc lánluais "Parful" an puball ina rabharta iomlán raibh. I measc an aidréanailín, bhain an seó macalla tochtmhar amach le linn "Irish Goodbye," rud a chruthaigh go bhfuil doimhneacht mhothúchánach fhíor, amh laistiar den tónachas agus den aoir.
Ag an am i láthair, is feiniméan cultúrtha iad Kneecap. Is fianaise é a bheith ag breathnú ar na mílte ag béiceadh liricí Gaeilge in ard a gcinn is a ngutha ar an gcaoi ar éirigh leo, as a stuaim féin, an teanga a dhéanamh frithchultúrtha, phráinneach, agus thar a bheith fionnuar.
Ba iad Black Nylon an banna tacaíochta an oíche sin.
A Tented Pressure Cooker of High-Octane Punk-Rap Irish Rebellion, Kneecap LIVE at the Marquee!
As the 2026 LIVE at the Marquee hits its final week the ENERGY was kicked out of the stratosphere last night as Belfast hip-hop trio Kneecap delivered their unique High-Octane Punk-Rap Irish Rebellion to the Cork docklands. Touring on the heels of their chart-topping album FENIAN, Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí brought a tented pressure cooker modern punk-rap defiance to a packed-out Leeside crowd.
Long before the trio even appeared, the air inside the Marquee felt electric. The crowd was a sea of green, white and gold balaclavas, tricolours, and pure anticipation. The group were completely compelling with their juxtaposition between a frantic anti-establishment persona and a razor-sharp tightness of their performance. when the opening synthetic thrum of "Éire go Deo" boomed through the sound system, the tent transformed into a giant, pulsating mosh pit. DJ Próvaí emerged in his trademark balaclava geeing up the crowd into a frenzy. Then came Mo Chara and Móglaí Bap bouncing onto the stage with an explosive energy that didn't let up for the next ninety minutes.
Mo Chara and Móglaí Bap traded bars flawlessly, seamlessly blending the Irish and English languages. Even for those in the crowd whose Gaeilge didn't stretch far past “An bhfuil cead agam dul go dtí an leithreas,” the choruses of early hits like "C.E.A.R.T.A." and "H.O.O.D." were roared back with absolute conviction.
Tracks from the new record FENIAN brought a heavier, more driving electronic weight to the set. The live rendition of "Rhino Ket" and the full-throttle techno-punk of "Parful" sent the tent into a full-blown rave. Amidst the adrenaline, the show hit a poignant note during "Irish Goodbye," proving that behind the hedonism and satire lies genuine, raw emotional depth.
At the present time Kneecap are a cultural phenomenon. Watching thousands scream Irish lyrics at the top of their lungs is a testament to how they have single-handedly made the language counter-cultural, urgent, and fiercely cool.
