Damon Albarn has been there for us through the last few years with Blur (their come back in Dublin was unforgettable), Gorillaz (still dreaming about their surreal show at Malahide Castle) and The Good, The Bad & The Queen last year at All Together Now festival.
Now it’s time for us to be there for him on his 52nd birthday and take a look back at those blurry 90s when his band Blur had one of the most memorable music battles for the Brit Pop throne against Oasis. When he wasn’t crafting some of the best songs of the decade with his mates, you could find him playing video games with Graham Coxon (and there’s a photo of that on the gallery too!)
Take a look at our interview with Mr. Albarn back in 2014 where he talks about heroin, his spirituality and how he and Noel Gallagher finally signed a treaty of peace. It is a brilliant read, featuring a man who turned out to be one of the UK's great musical innovators.
