Living legend Christy Moore graced the stage at the Theatre Royal Waterford last night for the first of two sold-out shows. The reverence in which the Kildare folk hero is held is truly unbelievable. There were cheers for 'Don't Forget Your Shovel', tears for 'Black is the Colour', and eruptions of laughter for ‘I Love Politicians’. All this from a crowd ranging in age from their 20s to older fans in their 70s.The night began with ‘The Hills of Donegal’ ended with ‘Sonny Don't Go Away’ and in between we were treated to a voyage of folk harmony, intermingled with Moore’s wicked sense of humour that left each lucky member of the audience hoping the night would never end!
