Play starring Ukrainian veterans to take place in Dublin
The Last Pint will be performed at The Riasc Centre in Swords on February 27.
A play titled The Last Pint and starring Ukrainian veterans is set to take place at The Riasc Centre in Swords on February 27.
An amateur performance, the play marks the anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia and was created as part of the Aon Ardán Rehabilitation Project.
Written by Yurii Vietkin and Jimmy Duggan, The Last Pint is a tragicomic encounter between Irish locals, Ukrainian refugees and war veterans, and is described as speaking of “loss, death, resistance and survival and told by those who have lived it.

“Through humor, grief and silence,” the official description continues, “different perspectives collide. The presence of veterans with visible war injuries brings the reality of war onto the stage with dignity, honesty, and deep respect.”
Organiser Aon Ardán is an Irish-Ukrainian cultural and rehabilitation centre that brings together war veterans from Chernihis, Veterans’ Creative Space and Irish and Ukrainian communities by using amateur theatre as a tool for recovery, inclusion and dialogue.
Tickets for The Last Pint are priced €27.79 and are still available here.
