"Political will is what is needed," said a statement from CATU
An all-island housing demonstration organised by Community Action Tenants Union (CATU) will take place on Saturday, July 5 in Dublin City Centre.
The protest is in response to the "rapidly escalating housing crisis in both the Republic and the North of Ireland," according to a statement from Ireland's tenants' and housing union.
"CATU believes that the governments in power in both jurisdictions have demonstrated their inability and lack of commitment to addressing homelessness and housing inequality," it added.
John Bohan, a CATU National Committee member, said: "We are calling on everyone affected by this crisis to mobilise with us on July 5 in Dublin city centre to make it very clear to the government that enough is enough."

CATU, which is an all-island union, also called on the Dáil and Stormont to immediately implement a number of measures to protect people across the island from homelessness.
These measures include: the re-instatement of the eviction ban, a commitment to ensure no child is living in emergency accommodation by 2026 and a full resourcing of the tenant in situ scheme.
Speaking outside Leinster House earlier today, TDs from Sinn Féin, Labour, the Social Democrats and People Before Profit announced 'Raise the Roof,' a rally set to take place outside the Dáil on Tuesday, June 17. It will coincide with a joint motion from opposition parties on the housing crisis.
