When No-One Is Watching We Are Invisible
JORI HULKKONEN When No-One Is Watching We Are Invisible [F Comm]
JORI HULKKONEN
When No-One Is Watching We Are Invisible [F Comm]
Finland might be one of the coldest parts of the earth but, rather strangely, underrated Finn Jori Hulkkonen makes some of the world’s warmest dance music. Confused? You should be. Watching is Hulkkonen’s fifth and strongest album to date, a work that manages to mix the synthetic and the organic without sounding trite or clichéd. Punctuated by deep, synth led electro and house grooves, soulful vocals – including an appearance from Chris Udoh from The Wamdue Kids on the jaw droppingly beautiful ‘The Moment’ and irresistible piano lines, this is electronic music with soul and house music with a human heart beat. Exquisite.
