Dance-rock group Metronomy has shared the latest single from their upcoming album, Small World in the form of ‘Things Will Be Fine'.
The accompanying music video offers a sense of teenage optimism at the perfect moment. In the visuals, the group plays around with old tech to mirror the band’s younger selves. Founder Joe Mount describes the video as a “sort of pseudo role-play therapy session.”
“A paean to teenage nostalgia,” Mount said. “Everyone ended up more scarred than they did before making it.”
Small Worlds is set to be released on February 18. Metronomy premiered the album with the lead single, ‘It’s Good To Be Back’ in October of last year.
Less hopeful than it’s brightly-coloured predecessor, the video for ‘It’s Good To Be Back’ shows the band in a Groundhog Day time loop, dying and coming back to life repeatedly.
Following the album release, Metronomy will set out for an Ireland and UK tour this April.
