Villagers announce headline show at Vicar Street this December
Following Villagers’ sold out show at Iveagh Gardens earlier this month, the rising star announced a show at Vicar Street at the end of the year.
Conor J. O’Brien of Villagers, who graced the front cover of Hot Press last October will be back in Dublin to perform an intimate show at Vicar Street on 13 December.
Villagers’ latest single, ‘Summer’s Song’ was described by Hot Press’s Stuart Clark as, “3 mins 23 secs of damn near perfect pop” after it was released as a surprise a few weeks ago.
“Summer's Song is the closest I'll ever get to writing a pure pop song,” said O’Brien. “I just had to roll with it and I'm glad I did; it was really just an excuse to make the horns sound like sunbeams.”
Last year, Villagers released The Art of Pretending to Swim, their fourth album and their music has been featured on the tv show Big Little Lies, expanding his reach beyond Ireland.
Tickets cost €35 and will go on sale this Friday, 26 July at 9:00 here.
