Vans Warped Tour Coming to an End
Vans Warped Tour founder, Kevin Lyman, made a statement today announcing that the festival would be finishing after its 2018 run.
Vans Warped Tour - the travelling, punk focused music festival - will finish after next summer, according to a statement made today by it’s founder, Kevin Lyman. The event had been running every year since 1995.
Lyman said: "Today, with many mixed feelings, I am here to announce that next year will be the final, full cross-country run of the Vans Warped Tour. I sit here reflecting on the tour’s incredible history, what the final run means for our community, and look forward to what’s to come as we commemorate the tour’s historic 25th anniversary in 2019."
The festival has hosted huge punk, metalcore, pop and ska names such as; NOFX, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte and New Found Glory.
Having gained popularity over the years, it then branched out to become a multi million dollar venture with more than 500,000 attendees.
