Irish label Claddagh Records has announced that Pomes Penyeach, an album by Irish musicians Adrian Crowley and Matthew Nolan, will be released on September 12.
The record's title comes from a collection of 13 short poems by James Joyce. According to a statement from Claddagh Records, the album will reimagine the 1927 work through music.
"This incredible release brings the iconic poems of James Joyce to life through a unique collaboration between musicians Adrian Crowley and Matthew Nolan," the statement read.
The first track on the album, 'Alone', was released today. It features vocals from Lisa Hannigan. Hannigan recently opened for Mumford & Sons at Malahide Castle.
"'Alone' featuring the vocals of Lisa Hannigan, released today, sets the tone for a hauntingly beautiful listening experience and showcases the musician’s delicate artistry," the statement read.
Other additions to Crowley and Nolan's composition will include Sean Mac Erlaine on reeds and electronics, as well as Kevin Murphy on cello and pedal.
