Saturdays star is one of the judges on the forthcoming series
The new season of The Voice of Ireland will be hitting our screens at the start of next month, with new coaches Una Foden and Rachel Stevens joining Kian and Bressie in the rotating hotseats. Hot Press wanted to make sure the experience is going well for the newbies, so checked in with Una for a quick chinwag to see how she was getting on.
"It's brilliant!" she enthused. "Really, I love it. We've done the auditions and the battles, so now we're taking a little break before the live shows."
Foden, of course, was once a promising young singer-songwriter in Co. Tipperary, and though she's gone a long way since (see what we did there?!), she was delighted with the sky-high standards she found back here in Ireland.
"The talent is amazing, there's a lot to look forward to. I’ve got some incredible people on my team. So do the others, granted, but I still feel that I have the strongest one!"
And don't think that that's not important...
"There is real competition between us coaches, absolutely!" she laughs. "Of course, Rachel and I are the newbies, but Kian has never won while Bressie has won twice. Bressie wants to keep his crown, but we’re all fighting him for it. And us two new kids on the block, we're definitely looking to make our mark."
The new series of The Voice of Ireland starts on January 4.
