U2 Promise Fans "A Very, Very, Special" 2017
U2 have posted a very interesting Christmas teaser on their website, remarking on the 30th anniversary of The Joshua Tree and hinting about a new album – and all that goes with it
In a short and humorous clip, posted on their official website yesterday, U2 dropped a few hints as to what fans can expect in the coming 12 months.
The clip shows Larry Mullen Jr and Adam putting Christmas decorations on a Joshua tree, while Edge strums 'The Little Drummer Boy' and – as ever – Bono does the talking!
"Happy Christmas, everyone," the singer says. "Next year's going to be a big year for the U2 group. We have Songs of Experience coming and, to honour 30 years of The Joshua Tree, we have some very, very special shows coming. Very special."
As they walk away, Bono whispers, "Joshua Tree..."
2017 is, of course, the 30th Anniversary of the release of The Joshua Tree, the album that rocketed the band to global supremacy, going to No.1 all over the world and eventually selling 25 million copies. We can expect them to add to that tally during 2017 – not least with the likelihood of live shows on the horizon.
