Track of The Day: Joshua Burnside – 'The Only Thing I Fear (uladh. Remix)'

Joshua Burnside has teamed up with uladh. (aka alt-country singer Joel Harkin) for his first song of 2021, a remix of his acclaimed single 'The Only Thing I Fear'.

The original track is an early single from 2020, released just a few months prior to Burnside's 2020 album Into The Depths of Hell, which Hot Press called "an essential entry into the category of Celtic rock."

uladh.'s remix sees Burnside's minimalist, acoustic offerings given a fresh lo-fi bedroom pop sound, with a woozy structure and plenty of found sound scores. Informed by the landscape of uladh's hometown of Donegal, his rework of 'The Only Thing I Fear' takes on a cinematic quality. And yet, the song manages to remain familiar, retaining the sense of nostalgia the original track possesses.
