Track of the Day: The City and Us 'Something Better'
New to the Irish music scene The City and Us are a four piece whose members include Elva Trill (vocals), Mark Hogan (vocals and guitar), Stephen Reilly (drums) and Stephen Youster (guitar). Having played their first ever gig on Dublin's Olympia stage supporting Keywest, the group have since grown rapidly in popularity, going on to play at Electric Picnic and headlining a Whelans show.
With their first single 'Home' having gone viral in 2017 - with its unique one-take-edit video flowing in a way which was suitable to its beautiful melodies - The City And Us followed up with a much more energetic second single, 'I flew to LA', which leans more towards a rock vibe. Their energetic, catchy songs leave a lasting impression, and make for highly energy live performances.
With their previous singles being unique in terms of style, the group's latest single strikes a beautiful balance between two genres - rock and an acoustic pop style. Alongside the beautiful sound of this latest single, 'Something Better', is a video which was filmed all the way over in Taiwan.
