The Scratch release new video for 'Roses n Poses'
This Saturday, The Scratch will play a set at Electric Picnic's Rankin's Woods, starting at 10:30 pm.
The Scratch have released a new video for ‘Roses n Poses’, a track from their recent album Pull Like a Dog.
Directed by Conor Beegan, the video includes clips from several of the band’s live performances, along with behind-the-scenes footage and shots of the audience.
‘Roses n Poses’ is the seventh track on Pull Like a Dog, released in March, which marked the Irish trad-metal band’s third studio album.
It was also one of the group’s first songs written with Gary Regan, who stepped in as the band’s guitarist in 2024 following the departure of their founding member Jordan O’Leary.
“It’s about tossing aside the idea of apologising for merely existing or hoping that if I keep colouring inside the lines I’ll get what I think I deserve,” lead singer Daniel Lang said of Pull Like a Dog when it was released. “Mocking myself a bit but also getting the blood going so I’ll grab life by the scruff and be loud about it.”
The Scratch have been touring in support of the album since its release. Last month, they performed their largest headline show to date at Dublin's Iveagh Gardens.
Their upcoming Irish dates include a set at Electric Picnic's Rankin's Woods, starting at 10:30 pm on Saturday. On September 18-19 they will play in Cork, then September 24-25 in Galway, September 26 in Belfast and October 2 in Limerick. Lastly, they will play at the Wexford Spiegeltent Festival October 23, before heading to San Francisco for the North American leg of their tour.
“If you take ‘pull like a dog’ to mean pushing yourself to the limit to reach the next destination you’ve got a nifty way to describe the Dublin outfit’s approach on their latest record,” Hot Press wrote in a review of the album. “The Scratch’s latest outpouring is also their gnarliest and most abstract.”
