The Saw Doctors to release new version of 'Same Oul' Town' with RTÉ Concert Orchestra this Friday

The Saw Doctors have announced the release of a new version of their classic track ‘Same Oul’ Town’, recorded with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. The single, arranged by conductor Gavin Murphy, will be available this Friday, April 11, on all digital platforms.

The collaboration was revealed during a surprise finale on The Tommy Tiernan Show on RTÉ One, where the Tuam band performed the song live with the orchestra.

“It was an amazing experience to be backed by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra,” said Carton. “Without a doubt, the highlight of my career.”

“I never imagined when we started out, we’d get a chance to play one of our songs with an orchestra,” added Moran. “Gavin Murphy wrote a magical score for ‘Same Oul’ Town.’”

The performance can be viewed now on the RTÉ Player.

The new single marks another milestone in The Saw Doctors’ 35-year career. The band will perform live at Virgin Media Park in Cork on Saturday, June 14, Fairview Park, Dublin on Saturday, June 28, and at the Letterkenny Summer Sessions on Saturday, August 16.
