The Rolling Stones debut in Irish Albums Chart Top 10
Foreign Tongues by The Rolling Stones was released July 10, debuting in the Top 10 of IRMA's Albums chart.
Foreign Tongues by The Rolling Stones has debuted in the Irish Albums Chart Top 10, nabbing the 8th spot.
December 10 join The Rolling Stones in the IRMA chart at No.3 with their EP On Your Side. This is the first EP from the Irish-English boyband formed on the Netflix series, Simon Cowell's The Next Big Act. The seven-piece band are set to play Belfast's Ulster Hall on July 20 and Dublin's National Stadium on July 21.
Securing the 10th spot in the charts is Dublin-singer Dermot Kennedy, with his album The Weight of the Woods, rising after his sold-out show at the Aviva stadium.
Foreign Tongues has a stacked list of supporting artists involved, including Paul McCartney, Robert Smith, Chad Smith and Bruno Mars and covers of well known tracks, such as 'You Know I'm No Good' by Amy Winehouse and 'Beautiful Delilah' by Chuck Berry.
"In a weird way, that song was supposed to meet us somewhere, for some reason," says Keith Richards on 'You Know I'm No Good'.
"I was always thinking 'Well, I'm bound to meet her down the road.' You kind of expect things to happen, and unfortunately no. I thought, it's been a while since we've done a cover, and I said 'If we're gonna do another cover version, Amy's is the one."
The album also features one of the last recordings of drummer Charlie Watts, taken from a session in Los Angeles, shortly before his death in 2021.
