In the new issue of Hot Press The Riptide Movement talk to Olaf Tyarensen about their recent deal with Universal Music, sharing a stage with the Stones at Hyde Park and the incendiary shows that have brought them to far-flung corners of the Earth.
Just a few short years on from their first Hot Press cover, Dublin's Riptide Movement grace the front of the magazine once more, and with good reason. Having just signed a major international deal and boasting a new look and a supremely confident new record, the Lucan lads are ready to take on the world.
Through pure hard graft, a flair for working the crowd and some killer tunes, The Riptide Movement have risen from their roots as Dublin buskers to conquer territories as far afield as Russia and India. With their third album Getting Through on the way, the ‘Tide seem unstoppable. Few contemporary Irish rock acts can claim to have as much street creed as the Lucan quartet. More specifically, fewer still can claim as much Grafton Street creed.
To celebrate their new album and second Hot Press cover, we're running a very special competition in association with Corona, For One Night Only – The Riptide Movement. 50 lucky winners will get a pair of tickets to join The Riptide Movement for a special evening in a secret Dublin location and the only way to secure tickets is by entering our competition! So click here now for your chance to win!
