The Opening Of The Cerebral Gate
Let’s hope this album finally brings Drexciya/Transllusion out of the shadows and into the spotlight they deserve.
Transllusion can usually be found making Detroit influenced electro as part of the mysterious Drexciya act, so ‘Cerebral Gate’ is the unnamed producer’s attempt at a solo project.
Like Drexciya, the Transllusion sound focuses on electro, albeit a far more accessible version of this underground style. Taking in distinctly European flavours on ‘Transmission Of Life’ and ‘Cluben In Guyana’, where ’80s synths are brought re-interpreted for modern day dance floors, ‘Gate’ also boasts some gloriously chilled, melodic material like ‘Dimensional Glide’ and ‘Unordinary Realities’.
Let’s hope this album finally brings Drexciya/Transllusion out of the shadows and into the spotlight they deserve.
