The Mary Wallopers announce two Irish Christmas shows
The band will play in Belfast and Killarney at the end of the year.
The Mary Wallopers have announced they will play the SSE Arena Belfast on Tuesday, December 23 and the Glenagle Arena in Killarney on Tuesday, December 30.
In an announcement on their instagram the band said, "Howiya Ireland! We’re coming to Belfast and Killarney for 2 massive Christmas shows this December!"
This announcement comes after a busy summer, including a headline show at Fairview Park in Dublin as well as sets at festivals like the Galway International Arts Festival and Dranouter in Belgium. They also released the single 'The Juice' and a live video for 'Gates of Heaven'.
Their most recent EP titled Home Boys Home peaked at No.11 on the Irish homegrown charts last year and remained in the charts for 13 weeks.
Known for their activism, they had their set cut and cancelled after two minutes at Victorious Festival in Portsmouth, England, after they came on stage with a Palestinian flag. Several bands due to appear then pulled out of the festival in a boycott, including The Academic and The Last Dinner Party.
The Mary Wallopers are also playing a handful of shows in Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom in what's become somewhat of a Christmas tradition for the group.
Tickets for the two Christmas shows will go on sale on Friday, September 12, with presale available on Wednesday, September 10, by joining the band's mailing list which you can access here.
