The Mary Stokes Band announce show at Arthur’s Blues & Jazz Club
Tickets for the gig start at €15, and are available now
Renowned Irish blues group The Mary Stokes Band are preparing for a live show at Arthur's Blues & Jazz Club in Dublin on Friday, November 8.
Over the past few years, Mary Stokes – one of the most highly regarded blues vocalists of her era – has revitalised her sound with the addition of the guitarist Sarah Michelle to her band. Along with her long-time sideman, harmonica maestro Brian Palm, she will be joined in Arthur’s by bassist Zamo Riffman and drummer Jay Oglesby.
The Mary Stokes Band recently won the Irish Blues Challenge held in Arthur’s – and her guest appearances with Grainne Duffy and Mary Coughlan at their shows in the venue raised the roof.
Audiences can anticipate a performance full of vibrant energy, authentic blues, and soulful melodies – featuring songs by the likes of Little Walter, Big Walter, Otis Rush, Rory Gallagher, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Muddy Waters, Billy Boy Arnold, Bo Diddley, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, and others, alongside some originals.
Tickets start at €15, and are available here.
