The Jimmy Cake Album Launch
Irish group to release Tough Love at The Grand Social
10-piece collective, The Jimmy Cake, has been making experimental rock since 2000 when several musicians from Das Madman joined together to collaborate. The group is now releasing a new album on Friday, 14 July, but those who come to their 8 July show at The Grand Social will be able to purchase the album there ahead of time. ‘Tough Love’ is a “part kosmische post-punk dystopia, part time-lapsed motorik stoner rock” album, written in 2015 for a performance in The Joinery.
The Jimmy Cake will be joined by guests Patrick Kelleher & His Cold Dead Hands. Kelleher is a Dublin-based electronic musician who has supported bands such as A Flock of Seagulls and Future Islands.
Doors open at 8pm. Tickets are €13 from Biletto.ie or €25 for a bundle (admission + LP).
