Syd Barrett-inspired jersey launched by Cambridge United to mark World Mental Health Day
The jersey will be worn in the team's match against Blackpool on Saturday, October 10, to celebrate World Mental Health Day.
Cambridge United Football Club have revealed a new jersey inspired by Cambridge-born, Pink Floyd frontman Syd Barrett, to mark World Mental Health Day.
The jersey is set to be worn by the team in their match against Blackpool, on Saturday, October 10, World Mental Health Day.
Created in collaboration with Barrett's estates, a portion of shirt sales, along with proceeds raised from the auction of the match-worn jerseys will go towards mental health work.

Produced by Umbro and Kitlocker, the shirt's diamond pattern is a reference to the song 'Shine on You Crazy Diamond', written in tribute by Pink Floyd to Barrett upon his departure from the band.
The orange and blue jersey colour scheme is inspired by the distinctive floorboards featured on the cover of his 1970 solo album, The Madcap Laughs.
Shot by portrait photographer Charlie Gray, the media campaign for the shirt's launch is also tied to Barrett.
Promotional images were photographed at two locations associated with his legacy: The Artyst cafe in Cambridge, dedicated to his memory, and Grantchester Meadows, the setting linked to the story of Pink Floyd's Cambridge roots.
The new jersey coincides with celebrations marking what would have been Barrett's 80th birthday. Some of these include a new commemorative album featuring new recordings and previously unreleased material. The record is titled Clowns And Jugglers: The Songs of Syd Barrett, and will drop on October 9.
There will also be a concert in Cambridge Corn Exchange on October 10, titled 'A Tribute to Syd Barrett - Official 80th Anniversary Celebrations.'
In a statement on their website, Cambridge United shared their admiration for the musician.
"The club would like to thank the Barrett Estate, Sony Music, Pink Floyd and all those who have supported the project.
"As a club committed to being United for Cambridge, we are proud to celebrate the people, stories and cultural heritage that make our city unique, while helping to shine a light on causes that matter to our community."
Syd Barrett passed away in 2006, aged 60.
