She's in control
Listening to ‘Control’, you begin to wonder whether or not Chromeo are just having a laugh.
Listening to ‘Control’, you begin to wonder whether or not Chromeo are just having a laugh. After all, like 80s perv funkers Cameo, their resurrection of outlandish, cartoonish basslines, daft vocoder vocals and old electro/hip-hop beats coupled with a dress sense that makes Elizabeth Taylor look like a square is hardly the behaviour befitting ‘serious’ artists. Having said that, they have a knack of writing catchy electronic pop tunes and the hilariously OTT sub-metal guitar wig out of ‘Destination Overdrive’ is worth the price of this LP. In fact, you can almost imagine them giggling into their codpieces as you hand over your hard earned cash.
