From the soundtrack for Never Rarely Sometimes Always
Sharon Van Etten has shared a new song, called 'Staring at a Mountain', from her upcoming film Never Rarely Sometimes Always.
Written and directed by Eliza Hittman, the film premiered at Sundance festival and follows a young girl named Autumn who takes a trip to New York City following news of her unplanned pregnancy. Van Etten will portray Autumn's mother. The musician is no stranger to acting, having portrayed Rachel in Brit Marling's sci-fi series The OA.
The minimal instrumentation provides space for the singer's haunting voice to take centre stage, over the low hum of an electric guitar. Listen below.
