Finnish DJ Kiki has lived in Berlin for the past decade and the influence of the world’s capital of electronic music is evident throughout his debut album. Apart from a succession of grinding house tracks that are equal parts Bpitch and Get Physical, there’s the riotous bleep techno of current single ‘The End Of The World’, the Maurizio-influenced ‘Up’ and, at the other end of the spectrum, the plaintive piano keys and melancholy hooks of ‘Turn The Lights Down’. Kiki really is ein Berliner and right now, that’s the greatest compliment you can pay any producer.
