Reworks
Reworks is a collection of the best Hefner remixes to date and, although his treatment of Tom Jones is absent, it's apparent that Hefner's work is fuelled largely by soundtracks
Hefner is the work of Lee Jones the shockingly talented mid-20 something who has remixed everyone from Zero 7 to Tom Jones.
As its title suggests, Reworks is a collection of the best Hefner remixes to date and, although his treatment of Tom Jones is absent, it’s apparent that Hefner’s work is fuelled largely by soundtracks.
In particular, his remixes of Cybophonia’s ‘Cut’n’Paste’ and 4 Hero’s ‘Planeteria’ – fuelled by strings, sensual vocals and double bass rhythms contain all the ingredients you’d normally associate with a film score rather than a dance producer. Let’s hope these elements help to introduce his work to a wider audience.
